Peak
Seasons: Fishing in Costa Rica
The fishing in Costa Rica is known for its year-round big
game and is considered one of the top fishing destinations
in the world. Here are some reasons why fishing in Costa
Rica is so special:
|
|
| |
|
Costa
Rica Marlin! |
|
Costa
Rica Sailfish (much larger than the Atlantic sails), |
|
It
is common to release a dozen or more sailfish in one
day and not unusual to release twenty! |
|
During
the Peak Season it's very possible to get a Grand Slam
(3 of the 4 billfish species in one day). |
|
Costa
Rica Dorado and Huge Tuna are extremely plentiful. |
|
During
the International Sailfish Tournament in Costa Rica
a few years ago, an all-time tournament record of 1,691
billfish were released by 120 anglers in 4 days. |
